Copenhagen Beer and Music Festival moves to the South End
This month’s Copenhagen Beer and Music Festival is relocating from City Hall Plaza to the SoWa Power Station in the South End, its producers announced Wednesday.
According to a statement from Brian Appel, whose organization Boston Calling Events is co-producing the festival with the microbrewery Mikkeller, the Power Station at 540 Harrison St. just recently became available for the festival dates, Sept. 22-23. A restored 19th-century brick power plant that hosts such events as SoWa Open Market and HubWeek, the Power Station had been high on the festival producer’s list of potential locations.
“It has this incredible character and historic architecture; we could not be more pleased to call it the festival’s new home,” Appel said in the statement. Last year’s Copenhagen festival, its first in Boston, was held at City Hall Plaza.
While the new location has allowed the festival to start both days an hour earlier, all other previously announced elements of the festival, including the beer and music lineups and the prices, remain unchanged. Tickets are available at www.copenhagenbeerfest.com.
